The MUSE Art Project (Movement to Uncover Self-Expression) is a five week arts program of Filipinas for Rights and Empowerment/ GABRIELA USA at University Settlement in the Lower East Side. With teaching artists Sara Jimenez, Arlene Rodrigo, and Anna Sian, as well as guest artists, the diverse group of women explored shared experiences through photography, water color, and poetry. The studio work of each MUSE participant will be showcased at this gallery reception. Friends, families, and supporters are all welcomed to attend! The MUSE Art Project, or Movement to Uncover Self-Expression, is a free five-week art workshop located in the Lower East Side starting Sunday, June 27 and culminating in an exhibition at a NYC art gallery in the last week of July 2010. The goal of MUSE is to create a space where women will be able to express themselves creatively through visual art and create dialogue around common issues.
